At the Adams Thermal Academies of Hosanna and Ottoro, we recognize that hunger is a significant barrier to learning and growth. Students who arrive at school without a meal often struggle to concentrate, participate, and reach their full potential.

To address this critical need, our school lunch program now provides a nutritious daily meal to 1,214 students across our schools in Ethiopia. Early in the development of our schools, we observed that many children were coming to class having eaten little or nothing—some without breakfast or dinner for days. For many students, the meal they receive at school is their only meal of the day.

Ethiopia faces widespread food insecurity, with one in four people experiencing insufficient access to food. Our students come from families living in extreme poverty, where meeting basic nutritional needs is a daily challenge.

Our program is designed to provide not just calories, but balanced nutrition. Meals include protein on a regular basis to support cognitive development, enhance learning, and provide the energy children need to thrive academically and personally.

Each monthly sponsorship covers the full cost of the program—including food, transportation, cooking and cleaning staff, and essential utilities—ensuring that every student receives a dependable and consistent meal.
