“Remember that whatever has happened in the past doesn't have to define your future. We were once hopeless kids, now we are grade 12 graduates with a bright future and brilliant minds.” - Misgana Demissie, October 2021 ATAH Graduate Speech

Many regard the use of ALL CAPS to be the written equivalent of shouting. If that's true, we have some SHOUTING we'd like to do.

WE JUST FOUND OUT THAT 100% OF OUR 2021 GRADUATING CLASS FROM ADAMS THERMAL ACADEMY HOSANNA (ATAH) WILL RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIPS TO ATTEND UNIVERSITY!

Many of you will be reading this on social media, so please feel free to SHOUT or share this news with others as well! We are so proud of these young people, and you should be too! Parents understand the elation and joy that fills the heart when their children achieve their goals and dreams. So our hearts are 100% full even though these are our sponsored children who are 7,000 miles away.

In February, we received the passing scores for our 40 graduates who took the Ethiopian University Entrance Examination back in November. However, we continued to wait in anticipation, because only 25% of Ethiopian high school graduates nationwide are given the opportunity to attend university on a federal scholarship. Then two weeks ago, the minimum score to qualify for scholarships was announced. The minimum was 351, and the lowest score in our graduating class from ATAH was 436!

If you, as a sponsor or supporter, who have ever wondered if these kids are grateful for the gift you've given them, the answer is ABSOLUTELY YES, and these test results are the proof. So whoever happens to be near you as you're reading this, give them a high-five, a fist bump or a shoulder hug, and let them know, "I'm helping to send some of the poorest kids in Africa to college!”

To our 2021 ATAH graduates, we say, "CONGRATULATIONS!” To our sponsors and supporters, we say, "THANK YOU!” And to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we say, "ALL GLORY AND HONOR BE UNTO YOUR NAME!"
