Ethiopian authorities are asking international NGOs (non-government organizations) like ADAMS THERMAL FOUNDATION to help with the humanitarian crisis in their northern territories.

The civil war in northern Ethiopia has left millions of displaced people hidden behind a media-driven veil of words and images. Manufactured narratives and strategic media alliances have multiplied the devastation caused by the conflict and the secret suffering of innocent citizens has caused Ethiopian government authorities to summon help wherever it can be found in the absence of an international community that would typically respond to a human crises of this magnitude.

Our staff has just returned from the Dessie and Kombolcha region, territory previously controlled by Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), after assessing the opportunities for the distribution of aid. It is estimated that more than 9 million people have been victims of "scorched earth" tactics which have left them without homes, their livelihoods, basic infrastructure, medical care and food. Warehouses containing aid supplies have been ransacked and more than 2,000 clinics and hospitals have been looted and vandalized. Widespread reports of women, young and old, being gang-raped in front of their children and husbands have added shame and degradation to the devastation caused by the war.

ADAMS THERMAL FOUNDATION has committed to filling a truck with food supplies and directly distributing the rations to displaced refugees in the Dessie and Kombolcha communities. Prayer teams will follow up the food distribution with ministerial help as well. Lastly, ADAMS THERMAL FOUNDATION has committed to collecting medical supplies (see below) that will be shipped to Ethiopia with a travel team in late January.

It will literally take years to rebuild the communities that have been devastated by the civil war in Ethiopia. Although we are primarily focused upon education and breaking the poverty cycle, our overall mission states that we will "strive to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable".

Please consider helping us purchase food aid for the displaced refugees in Dessie and Kombolcha by January 20th, 2022. Just $25 will feed a displaced refugee with teff (flour) oil and beans for one (1) month. If you work in the medical community and can help provide any of the supplies on the list below, please contact us to arrange for pickup or ship your donation to arrive before January 20th to Adams Thermal Foundation, 47920 5th Street, Canton, SD 57013. You can call us toll-free at 877-678-1099 or send an email to info@adamsthermalfoundation.org
