MKA Ministries is rescuing homeless kids off the street in Ethiopia. See below for some travel journal entries from Addis Ababa this past week by Mike Adams, President and Founder of Adams Thermal Foundation and MKA Ministries.

DAY 1 - Pastor Samuel and I arrived in Addis this morning and had the privilege of worshiping at The Fellowship Church in the capital city. The work of our MKA and Adams Thermal Foundation staff was evident as we were blessed to baptize 17 new believers, with 12 of them being the street children that Pastor Bahru and his team have been mentoring for 8 months. The stories of changed lives was amazing. More to follow.

After the baptisms, yesterday afternoon we were able to assess the homes (small rooms) we are providing to move homeless children off the street. MKA and Adams Thermal Foundation have provided 7 safe-rooms for 21 children and young adults, and we are in the search of one more secure location. These very humble "houses" make a significant difference. For many of these kids, this is the first time in 7-10 years they have been able to sleep off the street at night.

Twelve out of the 24 were baptized yesterday morning. They were ready to take the step after 8 months of mentorship, and their training will continue. Street life is really hard, and rehabilitation and healing takes a lot of time. Grace provided by the cross of Jesus Christ breaks the chains of bondage. In addition, we have eleven of these young people currently training in wood working to provide them vocational skills. I was so encouraged to hear their testimonies. They travel from all over Ethiopia due to death, famine, and war, and have made their way to the capital. I am so proud of these young men and our staff working with them. We spent the afternoon visiting their homes and listening to their stories. Praise the Lord !
